Seeking knowledgeable seasonal to full-time worker to help with environmental stewardship and urban gardening.
This is a seasonal, full-time position that reports to the company owner and has the potential to become a year-round position based on qualifications, workload and so forth. We are seeking someone who has a solid understanding of horticultural practices regarding planting and plant health care, including pruning, dead heading, integrated pest management, etc. Our guiding principle is to be responsible stewards of the environment and we’re looking for someone who aligns with those values and understands the challenges of establishing and stewarding urban gardens both on the ground as well as on terraces and rooftops.
As an urban gardener, you will be responsible for seasonal plantings in containers and in-ground, including annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees. You will need to manage projects in an efficient and timely manner as well as communicate proactively with customers throughout the lifetime of the project. The right person will be skilled at organization, prioritization and short-notice problem-solving. You must also be able to install holiday/winter lights and décor as needed, and to drive a vehicle (van, truck, or box truck) with competence and common sense.
The job requires a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a related field, a sound understanding of plant types and habits (Midwest natives a plus), recordkeeping and report-writing skills, and the ability to work independently. Knowledge of irrigation controls a plus but not required. Horticultural or environmental background a plus but not required.
Urban Landscape Project Manager
Seeking full-time manager to oversee urban garden and rooftop projects and report directly to company president.

Our guiding principle is to be responsible stewards of the environment and we’re looking for someone who aligns with those values and understands the challenges of establishing and stewarding urban gardens both on the ground as well as on terraces and rooftops. This is a full-time position that reports to the president of the company.
The person in this role is responsible for day-to-day management of crew operations, project scheduling and morning dispatch of crews, materials procurement, and site visits for current and new clients. You will also need to meet and communicate effectively with clients, verify new leads, perform project takeoffs and prepare cost estimates using company estimating program. You will be required to work as a hands-on participant within crews as needed. You will also need to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities and projects simultaneously.
Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience managing projects and crews in horticulture/landscaping industry is required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, with CAD/estimating software experience a plus. Educational background in horticulture, landscape architecture or environmental education preferred. Must have excellent communication skills, reasonable writing skills and proficiency with plant identification. Basic knowledge of irrigation controls a plus, and the ability to drive a vehicle (van, truck, or box truck) with competence and common sense is a must. Positive attitude, independence, organization and self-motivation a must!
Seeking organized assistant to provide administrative help, sales support, contracts management and light marketing duties.
We are seeking an Administrative Assistant to be based in the city of Chicago to assist with a variety of tasks essential to our day to day operations. We are looking for an individual with a positive attitude that embraces our mission and has the ability to multi-task effectively. The ideal candidate is resourceful, a good problem solver, and organized. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely from home or at times in the field conducting site visits, attending meetings, etc.
As our administrative assistant, you will be responsible for project administration including customer and vendor communication, light bookkeeping/job costing, and entering of contracts into our system. You will also manage contract renewals; materials sourcing and procurement; some marketing duties including activity surrounding sales drip campaigns; shipping product samples; and sales support including lead follow ups, site condition verification, and submitting data sheets to customers.
This job requires strong Microsoft office skills including PP, Word, and Excel as well as Adobe experience is required. Also, you must have a clean driving record, exceptional communication skills, superior organization skills, and dedication to completing projects on time is a must. You must also be comfortable working outside – this is not solely a desk or office position. Experience with Quickbooks strongly preferred. Experience in the landscaping industry a plus.
