Demonstration Project for the General Services Administration | LEED Gold Certified Building
The General Services Administration tapped Ecogardens to retrofit their 9,500-square-feet building with a green roof spanning the entire surface.
The goal was to provide a demonstration project to serve as proof of concept of how green roofs work here in Chicago.
Not only did we create a visually pleasing roof boasting a massive diversity of plant species, we also proved the benefits of green roofs vis-à-vis stormwater and asset protection. This roof still serves as a teaching garden today.
