Ecogardens collaborated with Chicago Landscape Architect Maria Smithburg to create a roof top haven for the PAWS Chicago's pet adoption center. We developed a safe place for dogs to interact with potential adopters and play off leash in the heart of the city.

The raised planter beds are out of a dog’s reach, but still contain plant material safe enough for the most curious pets. A lawn area, made of SynLawn, withstands high foot traffic and never requires watering. The material is permeable, but can be rinsed and disinfected for easy cleaning.

Surrounded by plants carefully selected to provide four seasons of color, the space also serves PAWS’ human clientele to enjoy and relax during social gatherings.
